What is Reiki?

Rachael Crow Reiki

~lwf0000Reiki is a very powerful self development tool, heightening intuition, helping develop a positive attitude to life, increasing energy and expanding creativity and opening doors which you don’t even know exist.

Reiki is a holistic form of healing; it treats the source of any disease – emotional, mental, physical and spiritual and promotes balance and health. It was rediscovered and developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan around 1870.

Reiki is a form of healing that is becoming increasingly popular in this country. Reiki is a powerful aid to our bodies’ natural healing ability and is one of the most natural, safe, healing techniques around. The Reiki energy is directed through the practitioners’ hands, bringing Reiki energy to the client’s body, working on many different levels. It brings all aspects of the client into balance and the clients’ body directs the energy to wherever it is needed. Reiki heals on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.

Reiki is a gentle, non-intrusive therapy that is deeply relaxing; healing the whole person in body mind and spirit creating a feeling of inner peace and tranquility. It restores balance and harmony in a person’s life.

Reiki is extremely successful as a therapy in its own right and it works in harmony with all other kinds of treatments and is also known to enhance all other complimentary therapies, greatly increasing the amount of healing power normally available.

Reiki is relatively quick and easy to learn and can be learnt by anyone

Reiki is not a religion and requires no particular belief system.

Reiki is available to everyone regardless of age and circumstances and all people, including children, can learn to use it. In order for the healing connection to be made a Reiki Master has to attune the student. An attunement is usually done during a reiki course. Once a person is attuned they are able to channel Reiki energy for life. However it is their responsibility to continue practicing to remove blockages and conduct themselves in accordance to the Reiki Principles. Reiki can do no harm and it is gentle and non-invasive and enhances the ability of a person to heal in many levels.
