Ailbhe- The Resurrection Drum- 15″ Stag and Birch Drum

Description

Ailbhe is made from a beautiful 15-inch Deer hide stretched over a handcrafted Birch hoop, finished with a traditional Celtic Cross handle that honours the meeting place of Heaven and Earth, spirit and matter, the eternal cycle of life, death and rebirth.
Her handcrafted beater is carved from locally coppiced Hazel, carrying the wisdom and inspiration of this sacred Celtic tree. The soft chamois leather head is lovingly stuffed with local alpaca wool and bound with recycled rabbit fur, giving a beautifully warm, gentle feel.

Nestled within her medicine pouch are gifts gathered with intention:
• Mugwort – the herb of dreams, vision and sacred journeying.
• Bay – a symbol of protection, clarity and inner victory.
• Rose Quartz – opening the heart to compassion, forgiveness and unconditional love.
• A stone gathered from the ancient Preseli Mountains – connecting you to one of Britain’s oldest sacred landscapes.

Deer is one of the great teachers of the woodland. Her medicine is one of gentleness, quiet strength and compassionate courage.
She reminds us that sensitivity is not weakness but a profound gift, allowing us to move through life with awareness, grace and deep intuition. Deer teaches us to listen more than we speak, to trust the wisdom of the heart, and to meet life’s challenges with softness rather than force. She carries the energy of unconditional love and reminds us that true strength is often expressed through kindness, patience and presence. When Deer walks beside us, she gently leads us back to ourselves.

Birch- The White Lady of the Woods
The hoop is crafted from sacred Birch, known throughout Celtic tradition as the White Lady of the Woods.
As one of the very first trees to leaf in spring, Birch has always been a symbol of rebirth, fresh beginnings and hope.
After fire, storm or hardship, Birch is often the first tree to return, bringing life back to the land. She teaches resilience.
She reminds us that no matter what has come before, every day offers the possibility of beginning again.
Birch invites us to let go of what no longer serves us and step courageously into the next chapter of our lives with an open heart.

A Resurrection Drum
Some drums are born to call us inward, others are born to help us remember.
Ailbhe is one of my Resurrection Drums, created during Easter week, when the Earth herself whispers of renewal.
She carries the medicine of rising, of hope returning, of the soul remembering its own light.
She reminds us that every ending holds the seed of a new beginning, and that even after life’s deepest winters, something beautiful is waiting to bloom.

A Message from Ailbhe
“Beloved Keeper, Do not fear the seasons that ask you to let go.
The trees release their leaves without sorrow, knowing that spring always returns.
Like the Birch, you are stronger than you know.
Like the Deer, your gentleness is your greatest strength.
I have come to remind you that the light you seek has never left you.
It has simply been waiting for the moment you were ready to remember.

As I sat with this drum, I found myself seeing the gentle image of a lamb emerging naturally within the markings of the hide.

Born during the sacred week of Easter, this felt deeply significant. Throughout Christian tradition, Jesus is known as the Lamb of God-a symbol of innocence, humility, sacrificial love and the promise of new life. The resurrection reminds us that love is stronger than fear, that light overcomes darkness, and that every ending carries within it the seed of a new beginning.

To me, this hidden lamb has become a quiet blessing woven into the very skin of the drum. It speaks of hope, it reminds us that the path of the heart is one of gentleness, forgiveness and unwavering love.

Like the Risen Christ emerging from the tomb into the light of a new dawn, this drum carries the invitation to leave behind old fears, old identities and old burdens, and to step courageously into the fullness of who we are created to be.

May every beat become a prayer of remembrance: that death gives way to life, that winter gives way to spring, and that love, always, has the final word.

As one of my Resurrection Drums, Ailbhe honours the Easter story not only through the Risen Christ, but also through the faithful witness of Mary Magdalene, who was the first to recognise that Love had risen. May this drum remind its keeper that resurrection begins in the heart that is willing to see with love.

Every drum I create is guided by intuition, oracle, and spirit. I invite in the natural elements, the ancestors of the land, and the celestial currents so each drum becomes a living bridge — a union of tree, animal, human, and cosmos.

Each of my drums is personally signed by me in golden ink. Gold is the metal of the sun, of incorruptible truth and eternal light, and my signature is offered as a final blessing — a witness that this drum was birthed with intention, prayer, and care. In this way, the signing becomes a quiet rite of completion, affirming the drum’s passage from my hands into its own life of service, song, and remembrance.

When I birth drums, I call in the natural elements of the land, the stars, and the moon. Guided by intuition, oracle cards, and the whispers of my spirit guides, each drum becomes a bridge between Earth and Sky, carrying the blessings of Father Sun, Grandmother Moon, and our wild Mother Earth.

Every element woven into this drum has been chosen with care and devotion.
I have been birthing drums for over 20 years, inspired by the ancient memory of women drummers and Layne Redmond’s When the Women Were Drummers. Each drum is a return to the primordial heartbeat—the rhythm of creation, the pulse of our Mother Earth.

Shipping Policy

Each drum I birth is a sacred creation — a one-of-a-kind being infused with prayer, intention, and ceremony. Because of the deep care that goes into their making, I also take great care in their journey to you.

To ensure that every drum travels safely and arrives in good time, I now send a maximum of two drums per shipment. This allows me to track and tend to each parcel with the attention it deserves and to minimise any risk of loss or damage in transit.

If your order includes more than two drums, they will be lovingly packaged and sent in separate parcels, a few days apart. Additional postage costs will apply for each separate shipment, and I’ll always confirm these details with you before dispatch.

This approach helps each drum’s energy — and the practical delivery process — flow more smoothly, ensuring that your sacred instruments reach you with the care they deserve.

Drum Return & Refund Policy
Handcrafted with intention – held with care

Every drum I create is a one-of-a-kind sacred instrument, birthed through ritual and made with natural materials that respond to their environment and the energy of their guardian.

To honour the integrity of this work, the following policy applies to all drum sales:

Returns & Refunds

• I am happy to accept returns within 7 days of receipt if you are not satisfied with your drum.

• The drum must be returned in its original condition, carefully packaged to prevent damage in transit.

• Return postage is the responsibility of the customer.

• Once the drum is received and inspected, a refund will be issued minus original shipping costs.

After 7 Days

Due to the nature of these handcrafted instruments, I do not offer refunds or exchanges after 7 days, unless the drum is found to be structurally faulty upon arrival.

Repairs

Natural hide drums are sensitive to moisture, temperature, and handling. For this reason, I cannot offer guaranteesbeyond the initial period, as I have no way of knowing how the drum has been stored or used.

If your drum becomes damaged or loses tone after some time, I do offer a paid repair service on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me with photos and details, and I’ll be happy to assess and advise.
