14″ Mountain Goat Drum, Ash & Hazel

This 14” Goat Drum carries the medicine of Mountain Goat — the wise climber, the sure-footed one, the being who knows how to ascend without rushing.

Goat arrives when it is time to begin a new climb, to pause, assess the terrain ahead, and move forward with intention.
One step at a time, trusting that you will land on your feet!

Mountain Goat reminds us to stretch beyond familiar ground, to reach for higher goals, and to believe in our own strength, skill, and resilience.

This drum carries the message: have faith in yourself — the only thing stopping you is doubt.

The Goat hide holds the vibration of courage, perseverance, and self-trust. It supports those standing at the edge of a new endeavour, a fresh chapter, or a long-held dream finally ready to be climbed.

REDUCED due to slight discolouration on the side of the drum- yellowish, and the handle wasn’t as tight as I would have liked.

Description

The frame is crafted from Ash, a tree of deep roots and great stability.
In Celtic tradition, Ash teaches us how to dig within ourselves to find nourishment, grounding, and inner security. It is a medicine for those who walk between worlds — reminding us to stay embodied, present, and anchored in the physical while engaging the spiritual.
Ash was seen as a bridge between Sky and Earth, allowing energy to flow freely between realms. Because of this, it was often used in ceremonies of protection, especially for guarding children and holding sacred space.
This Ash frame lends the drum a steady, protective, deeply rooted presence — spectacular things can move through safely when the roots are strong.

“Spiral” Handle – Path of Becoming- the handle is a spiral design, symbolising growth, evolution, and the sacred journey inward and outward. It invites the player into a relationship of movement — a remembering that each step upward is also a deepening within.

The beater is crafted from Hazel wood, gathered on my summer journey to County Clare, carrying the medicine of wisdom, inspiration, and poetic sight. Hazel has long been associated with sacred knowledge and the spark of creative insight.
The beater head is plain chamois, softly stuffed with local alpaca wool, offering a warm, gentle, grounded tone.

“Heart of the Mountain”
Rich, poetic, and deeply resonant — I felt this was perfect for a drum that holds both strength and tenderness!

This Goat Drum is a companion for:
New beginnings & bold steps forward
Threshold moments & life transitions
Building confidence and self-trust
Grounded spiritual practice
Those called to climb higher — with patience and grace

When you first play this drum, you awaken its true voice. I never sound the drums before they leave me — this initiation belongs only to you.

I began this path over 20 years ago, after reading When the Women Were Drummers by Layne Redmond. My calling has always been to make drums that connect us back to the heartbeat of the Earth Mother, honouring the animals, trees, and elements in the most ethical way possible.

Shipping Policy

Each drum I birth is a sacred creation — a one-of-a-kind being infused with prayer, intention, and ceremony. Because of the deep care that goes into their making, I also take great care in their journey to you.

To ensure that every drum travels safely and arrives in good time, I now send a maximum of two drums per shipment. This allows me to track and tend to each parcel with the attention it deserves and to minimise any risk of loss or damage in transit.

If your order includes more than two drums, they will be lovingly packaged and sent in separate parcels, a few days apart. Additional postage costs will apply for each separate shipment, and I’ll always confirm these details with you before dispatch.

This approach helps each drum’s energy — and the practical delivery process — flow more smoothly, ensuring that your sacred instruments reach you with the care they deserve.

Thank you for your understanding and support in helping me honour the spirit of this work and ensure each drum’s safe passage to its new guardian.
