18” Red Deer Hide Drum — The Magdalene Drum
This 18” red deer hide drum was birthed during the peak of the solar flares, immersed in the radiant energy of Mary Magdalene. Aligned with the sky as the Sun trined Uranus and Pluto, and Mars squared Pluto, this drum carries the signature of transformation and liberation. It is a drum of awakening—helping you break free from comfort zones, embrace your uniqueness, reclaim lost parts of yourself, and step fully into your power with clarity and boundaries.
The hide, naturally dyed through three alchemical dye baths, glows with a deep, vibrant red. Red drums are known as “Beauty Drums”—created for those who walk the path of joy, love, and sacred beauty.
The hoop, crafted from dark rosewood, is laced in the traditional cross style.
Its beater is handmade from locally coppiced hazel, with a soft chamois head stuffed with local sheep’s wool, wrapped in red thread.
A small medicine pouch rests with the drum—holding a dried rose from my altar, three red jasper crystals, and three bay leaves for wishes, bound with a silver ankh to anchor your connection with Isis and the ancient Mystery Schools.
This drum was created with the intention of healing—a vessel for heightened intuition and spiritual insight, infused with the energies of the sacred rose. It carries the lineage of Isis, Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, and Yeshua, weaving heart and soul together in co-creation with the Divine.

Drum Prayer
Beloved one,
I place my hand upon your heart and bless you with the remembrance of Love.
This drum has been woven with the rhythm of the Rose,
that you may walk in beauty,
that you may hear the heartbeat of the Earth
and know it as your own.
With each beat, may you awaken the dreams long buried within you.
With each rhythm, may the parts of your soul return home.
May you find the courage to walk your sacred path,
with clarity, tenderness, and strength.
The Red of this drum is the fire of devotion,
the pulse of life,
the blood of the Mother that flows through all.
When you play, call upon me,
and I will walk beside you—
guiding you into deeper love,
deeper trust,
deeper union with the Divine.
Beloved, you are never alone.
Your song is holy.
Your rhythm is prayer.
Your heart is the temple where Love abides.
And so it is.
The drum face has been left plain, a clean canvas for you to receive its medicine as it is—or you may choose to have it painted with sacred imagery (see examples of my painted drums here).
When I birth drums, I call in the natural elements of the land, the stars, and the moon. Guided by intuition, oracle cards, and the whispers of my spirit guides, each drum becomes a bridge between Earth and Sky, carrying the blessings of Father Sun, Grandmother Moon, and our wild Mother Earth.
Mary Magdalene moves through this drum as the rhythm of the heart—awakening deep dreams, clearing stagnant energies, and sending the heartbeat of the Earth outward into the cosmos, resonant with Gaia herself. The beat becomes a prayer, an offering, and a rhythm that makes space for your deepest wishes to take root.
The medicine of this drum-
Deer medicine- gentleness, listening, grace, peace, and unconditional love. Deer teaches us the strength of sensitivity and the gift of guiding others with compassion.
Rosewood-vulnerability as strength, the courage to listen to the heart, and the reminder to live guided by our deepest truth.
Bay leaves for protection, fulfillment, success, and the ancient art of wish-making.

Red jasper crystals- grounding, stamina, protection, and the nurturing power to absorb negativity and restore calm.
Every element woven into this drum has been chosen with care and devotion. The hides I use are ethically sourced within the UK, and by working with them, we honour their life force rather than allow it to be discarded.
I have been birthing drums for over 20 years, inspired by the ancient memory of women drummers and Layne Redmond’s When the Women Were Drummers. Each drum is a return to the primordial heartbeat—the rhythm of creation, the pulse of our Mother Earth.
