Rosa Porta Unctio- Magdalene–Christ Vesica Drum 14″ x 18″, Dyed Deer Drum- Rose Gate * Chalice & Sun * Drum of Sacred Union
This is a devotional drum, birthed as a living icon of sacred union, remembrance, and the eternal gateway between Heaven and Earth.
Formed as an egg-shaped frame drum, its hide glows in a deep rose–crimson hue — a colour of love made holy, devotion embodied, and the bloodline of wisdom carried through the ages. The deer hide has been naturally dyed in ceremony, soaked with red rose petals and quartz, allowing the medicine of the Rose to permeate every fibre. Deer brings gentleness, alertness, and the quiet strength of the heart that knows when to stand and when to soften.
The oval hoop is carved from cedar wood, a sacred tree of protection, prayer, and incorruptible spirit. Cedar has long been used to carry offerings between worlds, making this drum a vessel for both grounding and ascension.
At its heart is a Vesica Piscis handle, formed by two overlapping copper hoops, each wrapped in radiant gold ribbon. This ancient symbol marks the original spiritual gateway — the womb of creation where two worlds meet. Here, the divine and the human, the masculine and the feminine, the chalice and the flame, cross and consecrate one another. It is the geometry from which the Flower of Life is born, the blueprint of life itself.

Description
The lower hoop holds 22 sacred lacings, carrying the Magdalene current — the chalice, the womb, the grounding and holding of divine love in form. It speaks of devotion, embodiment, earth wisdom, and the holy feminine as keeper of the Grail.
The upper hoop holds 33 lacings, anchoring Christ Consciousness — the solar heart, the anointed one, the resurrection frequency, and the remembrance of unity beyond separation.
Together, they form a living prayer of Sacred Union.
Within the medicine bundle rests a red rose from my altar, infused with devotion and prayer, alongside a mini rosary handmade by me, binding this drum into the lineage of contemplation, remembrance, and embodied prayer. This drum is a sacred reliquary.
The beater is crafted from locally coppiced hazel, a tree of wisdom, prophecy, and poetic sight. The beater head is made from soft red fabric and filled with alpaca wool, offering a gentle yet resonant touch.. A golden ribbon binds the beater, mirroring the solar thread that runs through the entire piece.
This drum is a threshold keeper. A rose gate. A chalice that sings.
It is for those walking the Magdalene path, the Christ path, or the path of sacred reunion between them. For ceremony, prayer, womb and heart work, anointing rites, devotional song, and moments when sound itself becomes sacrament.
The drum name- Rosa Porta Unctio means The Rose Gate of Anointing
Rosa — the Rose of Magdalene, devotion, bloodline wisdom, love made sacrament
Porta — the Gate, the Vesica, the threshold between worlds
Unctio — the Anointing, the sacred oil, Christed embodiment
Together, the name speaks of the moment where love crosses the threshold into flesh and becomes holy.
This drum holds the frequency of the Rose Gate through which the Anointed One passes as union…. Magdalene and Christ, Chalice and Flame, Earth and Star.
The drum is dyed red deer- through several dye baths of natural dyes, Deer medicine brings gentleness, listening, grace, peace, and unconditional love. Deer teaches us the strength of sensitivity and the gift of guiding others with compassion. Held and sounded through its Cedar oval hoop, a sacred wood long associated with longevity, protection, and preservation. Cedar has been used across cultures to cleanse, heal, and guard sacred space, and to summon benevolent spirits during ritual and invocation. Many traditions teach that Cedar holds ancestral presence, bestowed at the beginning of existence, making it a bridge between worlds and generations. Cedar is also a tree of focus and illumination, helping the keeper remain steady, clear, and rooted while working in subtle realms. It has long been planted to protect sacred groves and holy ground, and in this drum it serves as a guardian—preserving the drum’s voice and the integrity of the work it is used for.
Each of my drums is personally signed by me in golden ink. Gold is the metal of the sun, of incorruptible truth and eternal light, and my signature is offered as a final blessing — a witness that this drum was birthed with intention, prayer, and care. In this way, the signing becomes a quiet rite of completion, affirming the drum’s passage from my hands into its own life of service, song, and remembrance.
When I birth drums, I call in the natural elements of the land, the stars, and the moon. Guided by intuition, oracle cards, and the whispers of my spirit guides, each drum becomes a bridge between Earth and Sky, carrying the blessings of Father Sun, Grandmother Moon, and our wild Mother Earth.
Mary Magdalene moves through this drum as the rhythm of the heart—awakening deep dreams, clearing stagnant energies, and sending the heartbeat of the Earth outward into the cosmos, resonant with Gaia herself. The beat becomes a prayer, an offering, and a rhythm that makes space for your deepest wishes to take root.
Every element woven into this drum has been chosen with care and devotion. The hides I use are ethically sourced within the UK, and by working with them, we honour their life force rather than allow it to be discarded.
I have been birthing drums for over 20 years, inspired by the ancient memory of women drummers and Layne Redmond’s When the Women Were Drummers. Each drum is a return to the primordial heartbeat—the rhythm of creation, the pulse of our Mother Earth.
Shipping Policy
Each drum I birth is a sacred creation — a one-of-a-kind being infused with prayer, intention, and ceremony. Because of the deep care that goes into their making, I also take great care in their journey to you.
To ensure that every drum travels safely and arrives in good time, I now send a maximum of two drums per shipment. This allows me to track and tend to each parcel with the attention it deserves and to minimise any risk of loss or damage in transit.
If your order includes more than two drums, they will be lovingly packaged and sent in separate parcels, a few days apart. Additional postage costs will apply for each separate shipment, and I’ll always confirm these details with you before dispatch.
This approach helps each drum’s energy — and the practical delivery process — flow more smoothly, ensuring that your sacred instruments reach you with the care they deserve.
Thank you for your understanding and support in helping me honour the spirit of this work and ensure each drum’s safe passage to its new guardian.
