Each drum is crafted in deep ceremony — This is an open-hearted style Drum with 32 laces, their pattern forming a wheel of balance and unity. The number 5 (3+2=5) carries the vibration of freedom, change, and sacred movement — the eternal dance between creation and release. Copper hoop at the centre wrapped in white organic cloth.

Birch Hoop Medicine — Renewal and Rebirth
Called the White Lady of the Woods, Birch is the first to awaken in spring, bringing renewal and the light of beginnings.
Sacred to the rune Berkana and the Ogham Beith, Birch holds the vibration of rebirth, fertility, and cleansing.
She invites us to release the old skins of the past, to return to innocence and begin again in the purity of truth.

Hazel Beater — Wisdom and Inspiration
The beater is crafted from local Hazel wood, known in Celtic lore as the tree of divine inspiration.
From the Wells of Wisdom to the Salmon’s leap, Hazel carries the current of insight, creativity, and storytelling.
Each beat awakens the ancient knowing within, bridging intellect with intuition — mind with heart. The beater head crafted from soft sheepskin to give a soft beat.

The Medicine Bundle
At the heart of each drum rests a medicine bundle, made from chamois holding-
A Howlite Crystal- calming an overactive mind for meditation, improving memory, strengthening bones, and helping access higher wisdom during dreams.
A Blue Lotus flower- a flower that can be used to facilitate spiritual growth by tuning human consciousness to different dimensions of reality.

Th name I chose for this drum-
Serein comes from Old French serein, meaning a fine, mist-like rain that falls from a clear evening sky — a phenomenon that feels almost impossible- rain without clouds, moisture without weight.
It’s also linked to the Latin serenus, meaning-
clear, calm, serene, untroubled, open sky.

So Serein carries a paradox at its heart…. gentle moisture falling from clarity, soft movement without disturbance, change without drama

Serein lives in the liminal- between rain and air, between motion and stillness, between thought and feeling

She is a name for…drumming in small spaces, threshold moments, night prayers, quiet travel, tending inner weather

I made my first drum over 20 years ago and after reading Layne Redmond’s book “When the Women were Drummers” I felt guided to create drums for people to play and connect to the heartbeat of our Earth Mother.

Hides mostly come from within the United Kingdom and are either from culled wild horses/ponies/deer/stags or animals that have naturally died. The hide is a waste product so by using it we are honouring the animal. As a life long vegetarian I’ve wrestled with the ethics for a long time, in the end my calling to make drums and bring us to the heartbeat of our Mother was too strong! I source my materials as ethically as possible, supporting local crafts people.

I weave in the natural elements of the land and the energies of the stars and moon while creating drums bringing what feels to me and those who have bought my drums a deep connection to the wild nature of our Mother Earth and the blessings of Father Sun and Grandmother Moon, I use intuition, oracle cards from many decks (including my own collage cards- not included!!) and follow nudges from my guides when creating drums.

Shipping Policy

Each drum I birth is a sacred creation — a one-of-a-kind being infused with prayer, intention, and ceremony. Because of the deep care that goes into their making, I also take great care in their journey to you.

To ensure that every drum travels safely and arrives in good time, I now send a maximum of two drums per shipment. This allows me to track and tend to each parcel with the attention it deserves and to minimise any risk of loss or damage in transit.

If your order includes more than two drums, they will be lovingly packaged and sent in separate parcels, a few days apart. Additional postage costs will apply for each separate shipment, and I’ll always confirm these details with you before dispatch.

This approach helps each drum’s energy — and the practical delivery process — flow more smoothly, ensuring that your sacred instruments reach you with the care they deserve.

Drum Return & Refund Policy
Handcrafted with intention – held with care

Every drum I create is a one-of-a-kind sacred instrument, birthed through ritual and made with natural materials that respond to their environment and the energy of their guardian.

To honour the integrity of this work, the following policy applies to all drum sales:

Returns & Refunds

• I am happy to accept returns within 7 days of receipt if you are not satisfied with your drum.

• The drum must be returned in its original condition, carefully packaged to prevent damage in transit.

• Return postage is the responsibility of the customer.

• Once the drum is received and inspected, a refund will be issued minus original shipping costs.

After 7 Days

Due to the nature of these handcrafted instruments, I do not offer refunds or exchanges after 7 days, unless the drum is found to be structurally faulty upon arrival.

Repairs

Natural hide drums are sensitive to moisture, temperature, and handling. For this reason, I cannot offer guaranteesbeyond the initial period, as I have no way of knowing how the drum has been stored or used.

If your drum becomes damaged or loses tone after some time, I do offer a paid repair service on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me with photos and details, and I’ll be happy to assess and advise.
