Handmade in Ceremony between the April 20th Solar Eclipse, over Earth Day and May 5th Lunar Eclipse ( gateway to a higher timeline- change, freedom, expansion, dreams becoming reality!) – starting on the Holy isle of Ynys Mon (Angelsey) and completed at my home- West Wales. (photos of me at Bryn Celli Ddu) Eclipses are a chance to reset and reevaluate our goals and intentions, letting go of what no longer serves us and making room for growth and expansion. The energy of this eclipse will push us to complete unfinished business, tie up loose ends, break harmful cycles, and release anything that has been holding us back. These particular eclipses were offering an opportunity for a transformative journey into the rebirth of our Soul- opening karmic door ways – accellerating change, amplfying our psychic senses, urging us to trust our instincts, spread our wings and let the Cosmos guide you to your Highest timeline- love, new possibilities, blessings and limitless abundance!

Description

Earth Day Musings – I am Earth, I am Stone, I am Dust.
My body is earth, I hold all her-story in my cells, in the coding of my DNA. All the ancestral story lines flow through my veins, with each breath I breathe I create her future, my future, our future.
For the Earth to heal I must first heal myself, heal the disconnection, the separation, see through the illusion- for it is only in the illusion healing is needed! Outside the illusion, through the veil, all is perfect and whole. Trust and surrender, love your self, love the Earth, gather the tribe, make prayers together, dance, sing, drum. Celebrate yourselves and our short lives here on planet Earth. Gaia loves you.

Beautifully Golden light deer Drum-Hide hoop style with hazel handle from hazel falling from a tree near Bryn Celli Du.

This drum is the third of my Summerland Drums- drums my guides told me are the re-birthed drums of the ancient ones, the healers, the shamans, the medicine people of the tribes. The ones who had their medicine drums taken, stolen, broken, burned and destroyed.

Whilst making this drum I was shown an image of a strong druid warrior holding off the Romans he held a large round shield which this Drum represents.

Now please know that not for one minute am i suggesting i am recreating an authentic ancient shamanic drum, this is just the vibration or the medicine the drum holds!
Whoever owns this drum can smudge and reset it to hold whatever intention feels right for them.

Tied to the drum is a small medicine pouch with a petrified wood crystal and the knotted hide from the lacing- the umbilical cord! Tied with a shell from Mona and a black feather. (Raven?)

The beater is handmade with hazel wood found on Mona, with a chamois head- stuffed with local sheeps wool.

I weave in the natural elements of the land and the energies of the stars and moon while creating drums bringing what feels to me and those who have bought my drums a deep connection to the wild nature of our Mother Earth and the blessings of Father Sun and Grandmother Moon, I use intuition, oracle cards from many decks (including my own collage cards- not included!!) and follow nudges from my guides when creating drums.

Large photo with the cards- painted by Wendy Andrews – Andraste (Andrasta, Adraste, Andred) is a warrior goddess, the goddess of victory, of ravens and of battles, similar in many ways to the Irish war goddess Morrigan. She is the patron Goddess of the Iceni tribe. Her name is thought to mean “the invincible one” or “she who has not fallen”. It is told that her presence was evoked on the eve of battle to curry favour. As a Goddess of divination, she was probably called upon to divine the outcome of battles and war.

While on the Holy isle I was getting a lot of messages about the Roman invasion and the fleeing Druids and native peoples- this healing drum serves to heal these times and create new timelines of PEACE.

The messages from the cards- (I found it interesting that 8 cards wanted to come- symbolising the Celtic Wheel, the eight festival throughout the year. These ritual thresholds include four festivals known as cross quarter days and for solar festivals the solstice and the equinox is tying in with the energy of the 44 portal in numerology eight is the number of renewal and represents balance just like the eternal flow of the Infinity symbol which is the same as the single digit eight on its side the energy of eight must keep moving.

The first card to come with this Drum was the Guardian which was a card I picked every day on the Isle of Anglesey! As well as a warning to be on your guard, he has feirce protective energy. The green man and Buddha are about deep connection to self and the high priest is about your sovereignty leadership and acting with integrity. The tree of souls reminds us to connect to the collective wisdom the roots beneath our feet hold all knowledge these three college cards of mine speak of taking the higher perspective saying through the veil being the truth see listening deeply to the ancient wisdom of the Earth and the channelled energy of the Earth and the cosmos in light for the good of all.

The beat of this drum carries the spirit of animal and tree and their energy blend together in alchemy with yours to create special journeys for you.

I made my first drum over 20 years ago and after reading Layne Redmond’s book “When the Women were Drummers” I felt guided to create drums for people to play and connect to the heartbeat of our Earth Mother.

Hides mostly come from within the United Kingdom and are either from culled wild horses/ponies/deer/stags or animals that have naturally died. The hide is a waste product so by using it we are honouring the animal. As a life long vegetarian I’ve wrestled with the ethics for a long time, in the end my calling to make drums and bring us to the heartbeat of our Mother was too strong! I source my materials as ethically as possible, supporting local crafts people.

What is the Summerland? The Summerland realm is neither in heaven nor the underworld. It simply is: a non-physical reality much less dense than ours. Some Druid traditions describe it as a land of eternal summer, with grassy fields and sweet flowing rivers, perhaps the Earth before the advent of humans. Others see it vaguely as a realm without forms, where energy swirls coexist with the greatest energies: the Goddess and God in their celestial identities. The Summerland is the great crossover. It’s not good, it’s not bad, it’s just a place we go where there is no more pain or suffering. We wait there until it is time for our souls to return in another physical body, and then we can move on to our next lifetime. Some souls may be finished incarnating, and they stay in the Summerland to guide newly arriving souls through the transition.

Deer’s medicine includes gentleness, the ability to listen, grace and appreciation for the beauty of balance, power of gratitude and giving, ability to sacrifice for the higher good, connection to the woodland goddess, alternative paths to a goal. Deer teaches us how powerful it is to have a gentle demeanour, to exert keen observation and sensitivity. Deer’s are in tune with nature and all it comprises. They are sacred carriers of peace and show us how to open our hearts and love unconditionally .Deer teaches us to touch the hearts and minds of wounded beings who are in our lives, to gently nudge them in right direction, with the love that comes from deer.

Ash Medicine- It has large roots that sink deep into the ground. For the Celts, this symbolized the people’s ability to dig inside themselves to find nourishment and inner stability. In fact, it is also a great symbol of stability and security. Those belonging to the sign of this tree do not tolerate those who are not concrete or those who rely solely on spirituality, forgetting the more concrete side of life.
Also according to the Celts, it was a kind of connection between the sky and the earth that allowed a flow of energy between these two different spheres. Therefore, spectacular things happened inside.
It was commonly used in ceremonies for protection rituals because it was believed that great energies were contained within it. Specifically, it was thought to be excellent for guarding children by protecting them from evil.

By the way…. I don’t make drum videos- playing the drum for the first time wakes it up and i believe this is the drum owners priority! See my YouTube video about it
