The Writing Room- with Barbara Whitfield and Rachael Crow
A quiet space to write, once a month, with other writers.
We’re starting a small monthly group for experienced writers who want consistent, focused practice — and the company of people who understand the work.
∙ Monthly, same time each month — starting 15th May 2026, 10.00am
∙ 90 minutes
∙ In-person at Canolfan Llwynihirion Brynberian – Garden Room- SA41, Pembs
∙ Maximum 8 people
∙ £15 covers your first three sessions (£5 each)
This isn’t a workshop. There’s no syllabus, no weekly homework, no line-by-line critique. It’s simply a structured hour and a half to write, in a room with other writers.
The Garden room at Brynberian Hall is light and airy, space to be outside if it’s sunny!
Each session looks like this:
A short prompt to start you off (use it or ignore it). Forty-five minutes of silent writing. Optional sharing at the end — read a sentence or two if you’d like. No feedback unless you ask for it.
We’re keeping it small deliberately. We’d like to hear a little about you before you join — just a few lines about what you write and what you’re working on, or nothing at all if you’d prefer.

A few questions before you join
These help us keep the group well-matched. There are no right or wrong answers — we’re just looking for a good fit on both sides.
1. What do you write, and how long have you been doing it?
2. Do you have a current writing practice? What does it look like day to day?
3. What draws you to a group built around silent writing with minimal feedback?
4. Is there anything you’re working on at the moment — or hoping to work on?
